History and Background of Matrix Reimprinting
Matrix Reimprinting was created by EFT Master Karl Dawson of the UK, in 2006. It is based on the idea that we are all connected and part of a “Matrix”, or “unified energy field”. For full details of this life-changing technique, I highly recommend the book,Matrix Reimprinting Using EFT, by Karl Dawson and Sasha Allenby.
Matrix Reimprinting goes along with the premise also used in EFT, which states that we are all made up of vibrating energy. The Matrix connects us as ONE. When we have a thought, it goes out to the Matrix, and then returns as our life experience. We canchange our lives by changing the thoughts or pictures in the Matrix. This concept of an energetic Matrix originated in the 1940’s by Max Planck, who became known as the founder of Quantum Theory. Movies such as What the Bleep Do We Know and The Secret are based on this theory, as well as the book by Gregg Braden, The Divine Matrix. Along with this goes the concept that we create our own reality, with our thoughts. What we think about expands; we attract more of it.
It has been known for years that EFT is a powerful tool in reprogramming old beliefs that were put in place when we were just children. Now with Matrix Reimprinting, we can do even more. Sometimes we carry around pictures in our minds from the past, for years. At the time the event occurred, part of the self splits off and goes into the Matrix. It is a dissociated part that becomes an Energy Consciousness Hologram”, or “ECHO”. Our energy field is still vibrating in alignment with the negative picture or event, so we are “stuck” in the old, painful memories and pictures that are in the Matrix. We also continue to attract more and more negative experiences, because experience follows energy vibration.
Gregg Braden stated that there is a field of energy that connects everything. I highly recommend his book, The Divine Matrix. This field plays the role of container and mirror for our beliefs. This field is holographic. Gregg Braden calls it “The Matrix”. The term was first used by Max Plank, the originator of Quantum Physics, in 1944. He described a “matrix of energy” that provides the blueprint for our physical world. It is also referred to as The Field, the Mind of God, and Universal Energy. The Matrix is the field that underlies all of existence.
Dr. Bruce Lipton wrote in his book, The Biology of Belief, that cells don’t have the consciousness to hold memory, but the cell wall has antennae that tune into the “self” in the matrix. He explained that eventually, cells and DNA will adapt and change to misperceptions of unconscious images in the matrix, which can lead to physical and mental “dis-ease”. He also wrote that it is possible to reprogram the subconscious mind: the antennae can absorb a new picture, creating new neuro-connections in the brain, and ultimately altering DNA.
How we create an ECHO (Energy Consciousness Hologram)
In working with traumatic memories, Matrix Reimprinting is based on the premise that when trauma occurs (child abuse, rape, war, auto accident, etc.) we feel so helpless and powerless because we cannot fight back or take flight. Instead, we freeze. In that moment, part of us energetically splits off, and instead of being stored in the body, this split off part is stored in the Matrix. Karl Dawson named the split-off part the ECHO.
The ECHO creates a type of amnesia: We numb out from the traumatic event as if it never happened. But it lives on in our subconscious mind, and dictates our response to future situations.
- As long as the trauma is held by the ECHO, similar events will trigger a similar response.
- Often, the subconscious response to a perceived threat is no longer valid, but it keeps happening anyway.
- This can lead to stress, anxiety, and phobias.
- It takes a great deal of energy to hold these ECHOs in the Matrix.
- In the subconscious mind, memories are viewed as current events.
Karl Dawson stated that most of our negative self and world views are developed when we are in utero, at birth, and during the first 6 years of our lives, often through trauma.
The Matrix Reimprinting Process
Matrix Reimprinting involves the client going into dialogue with the ECHO at the time of the traumatic event. When we release the energy through tapping, give resources to the ECHO, and then move safely through the memory, the subconscious mind can let go of the trauma and feel safe.
By changing the images in the Matrix, we can change the language of our subconscious mind.
Steps for working with the ECHO in the Matrix:
The client steps into the Matrix, identifying to the Echo that they are the ECHO’s older self.
The client describes the scene, and asks the ECHO how they are feeling.
The client asks the ECHO for permission to tap on them.
The therapist taps on the client, while the client imagines tapping on the ECHO.
The client then checks in again to see how the ECHO is feeling.
The client explains to the ECHO that they have unlimited resources to give to the ECHO to help them in their situation. The resources could include a magic wand, an angel, a spirit guide, etc.
The client can also help the ECHO change what happened. The ECHO can do what they didn’t do, or wish they had done.
The ECHO picks the resources it needs to feel safe and to neutralize the trauma.
The client has a conversation with the ECHO to determine what negative life messages they took on from the situation.
Steps for reimprinting a new picture or scene:
Ask the ECHO if it wants to go to a new place, away from the negative scene.
At the new scene, encourage the client to create a new picture with the ECHO, and anyone else included in the scene, using all of the senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, smells, and in addition, energy vibration and feelings.
Once a new scene is created in which the ECHO feels safe and has resources, the “new picture” is imprinted in the brain, the body, the heart, and then sent back out to the entire Universe.
Results of a Matrix Reimprinting Session:
The original “movie” or “scene” is changed
The trauma is resolved
The client has a more resourceful memory
The new picture has replaced the old one
The client feels at peace, and the ECHO is reintegrated into the Self
Working with Traumatic Memories in the Matrix
The Freeze Response: When something traumatic occurs, and we can’t take flight or fight back (the fight or flight response), we freeze. We are immobilized by a sense of total helplessness. This is how the ECHO is created. Part of us splits off energetically. The freeze response is a survival response. In animal studies, the freeze is the last resort when being threatened.
After the event, there is a great deal of shame. The ECHO regrets their inaction; they see it as a sign of weakness. Most animals are able to discharge the freeze response after the threat is gone. They shake it off. As humans, we don’t discharge the freeze response (Exception: some tribal cultures do).
There are Big T Traumas, and small t traumas. Anything that we perceive as a threat to our life is a Big T Trauma, and for children, sexual abuse is a Big T Trauma. Examples of Big T Trauma: Rape, child abuse, war, disasters, major tragedies. The higher the degree of helplessness felt, the bigger the trauma. Small t traumas could be events that shatter our sense of security, or our self-esteem, but they don’t threaten our lives. Examples of small t trauma: emotional abuse, or physical abuse that is not life-threatening. Trauma occurring in the 1st 6 years of life is especially damaging. Whether it is “t” or “T” trauma, the result is the same. It needs to be cleared in the Matrix, for lasting healing to occur.
It takes so much of our energy to hold these ECHOs in the Matrix. Have you ever noticed people who walk hunched over, like an animal when threatened? It’s like they are wearing their trauma. Imagine how much energy is freed up for living life, once these ECHOs have been embraced, resourced, and set free!
What Does a Matrix Reimprinting Session Look Like?
The client brings in a troubling memory or picture. A few rounds of EFT are done to uncover the memory, and to come up with an ECHO that the client wants to work with. The therapist taps on the client, and the client imagines that he/she is tapping on the ECHO. The client is asked to bring in resources and people or spiritual beings to assist the ECHO. A new memory is created by the client, one that is calming and healing. It is then internalized into the mind, body, and heart of the client, and sent out into the Matrix. The client is asked to feel the positive emotions, now that the memory or picture has been reimprinted. The last step is to test the result: the client is asked to bring up the old memory, and if any emotional intensity comes up, the process starts again.
Summary of Matrix Reimprinting
Our negative beliefs are manifested from our past events and held as ECHOs in the Matrix.
The disruption in our body’s energy system can be traced back to these disruptive holographic images (ECHOs) that are being held in the Matrix.
Through the Law of Attraction, we attract more negative events and experiences that match these holographic images in the Matrix.
These holographic memories about the perceived events have an influence on our physical response: hormones, body chemistry, cell structure, and even DNA are impacted.
Our past, current, and future pictures that we hold are influencing our life, including our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
As we change these images, we change the past and we reprogram our old belief systems.
The result: We create a new world view that supports us. This reduces stress, boosts our immune system, and enables us to live disease and pain free.
With new images in place and beliefs reimprinted, we are able to create success and abundance, a healthy mind and body, and loving relationships. We reclaim our power and our energy.
YES, it is possible to create a new past!
